In the world that we live in today, blogging is quite a common thing. There also happens to be various types of blogging; but there are some things that ensure the successful running of a blog no matter the niche of the blog. In this article, we look at what makes a blog successful.

  1. Having a niche: As much as you wish to discuss various things on your blog, you have to stick to a particular niche to make things easier for you. The benefit of having a niche is that it helps you with generating better content.

  2. Own a domain/Register on reliable platforms: They are numerous platforms where one can host their blog such as Hashnode , Medium and Wordpress. These platforms allow you to write and share your work. It is also good to get a domain of your own as this makes it quite easier for your readers to access.

  3. Credible Audience: A blog may have a huge following but may not have an audience that totally relates to the content of the blog. Personally, believe that a successful blog would have its audience react to it content from time to time. blog 3.jpg

  4. Social Media presence: Social media is a huge part of our lives and almost a lot of people are on it these days. Every blogger should always post their content on social media regularly as this helps give them a social media presence which then helps the blog.

  5. Consistency: For some, this is not a big deal but personally I feel there should be a level of consistency with your writing. Stick to a schedule, let your audience be aware of it and let the writing flow with the schedule.

  6. Simple Language: As a developer or technical writer, you need to ensure that you make use of simple language and explain technical jargons whenever you are writing. The purpose of this is to make your readers that are not technically inclined understand your write up.
