Hey! there πŸ‘‹ I hope you all are well and doing great.

I'm very happy and delighted to introduce you to the Project Planet, an initiative to make the earth a better place for living! πŸ˜ƒ

β€œThe environment is where we all meet; where all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.” - Lady Bird Johnson

Earth has been home to humans for hundreds and thousands of years, and it has served us well. But with the increase in population, and humans continuing to pollute and plunder the Earth’s finite resources, our planet is looking has now started to be jeopardized.

Now the issues like Global warming, Climate change, Sustainability, Aforestation... are the important and obvious topics, which everyone present is aware of, but which isn't discussed, or no one gives a second thought to them.

To make this planet better NGOs and Social workers are working untiringly. πŸ™„πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Problem Statement 🌎

  • There are many NGOs, Charities, and Social workers who are doing whatever they can. But they are significantly lacking manpower, support, and funds.
  • People want to contribute and volunteer for the causes to support the mother earth, but they don't know how/what to contribute... πŸ’«

So, let's bridge the gap between these two parties.

Introducing: Project Planet πŸŒˆπŸš€

Project Planet is an initiative where NGOs, and organizations can collaborate with volunteers and other social workers to make the Earth a better place for living. πŸ™Œ

Inspiration πŸ˜‹

There are NGOs in my city with so many meaningful missions and events that people are not aware of, they require volunteers and funding to run their organizations but they don't have a platform to publicize themselves. I truly believe the best way to "Spread The Love" is by giving back.

So that inspired me to do something for the people who are already making our society a better place.

How it works πŸ˜ƒ

The platform we plan to build will work in 5 simple steps:

1. NGOs, Charities & Local Communities 🧩

  • Upload tasks they need help with.
  • Tasks could be like creating posters, making designs, conducting workshops, or campaigns, writing articles, or something as simple as sharing their latest social media posts or tasks like giving food to the homeless.

2. Volunteers πŸ™‹

  • They can choose tasks and show their interest according to their expertise, skill sets, interest, and time availability.

3. Collaboration πŸ‘₯

  • NGOs and volunteers can chat with each other through our platform.
  • They can discuss and distribute tasks among themselves.

4. Rewards (Next Update) πŸ†

  • Certificates and shoutouts will be given to the top participants.
  • Once a task is completed, they can post photos, which will be verified by the platform and the NGO, to earn points and achievements.

5. Redeemed Points πŸ’―

  • We'll tie-up with small brands, local businesses.
  • Earned points can be redeemed at these partner brands, thus helping the community even more.

Conclusion ✨

I hope this initiative could add some value to society. Also, I would like to thank HashNode and Netlify for providing us with such an amazing platform and for conducting such a motivational Hackathon where people from around the globe join and build something useful and productive for OpenSource. 😊
