The First week of the Bootcamp
Table of contents
In my previous and first article on this blog, I introduced my team project. But in this article, I am going to tell you guys what went down in the first week of the bootcamp. I promise you it's going to be an interesting read!
Before diving into what went down in the first week, I want you to know that, we are a team of 65 brilliant people. Amidst us are, product designers (UI/UX designers), graphics designers, frontend developers, backend engineers, web developers, video animators, product managers, digital marketers & content creators, quality assurers, data analyst and customer relationship managers. The team lead and assistant team lead were elected through thorough evaluation.
The bootcamp started fully (I mean the real deal), on 6th June, 2022. Our task for the week included, brainstorming the project (just so you know; we were given 25 various project topics, we were told to pick any three that is of our interest and was give one of them), understanding and defining the scope of the project, organizing each sub team & electing sub team leads (leads for each track), deciding the name and tagline for the project and a flyer containing the pictures of every team member.
All of these tasks have been successfully met. It wasn't easy but we did it! we were able to accomplish this through various virtual meetings, effective communications via team channels, a lot of hard-work and cooperation! There were a lot of arguments, but we agree to disagree.
We brainstormed the project during a virtual meeting, where every team member was able to give their thoughts on the project topic. The project topic stated that; A project tracking app for restaurants allowing them to track all their orders, send notifications to employees, and manage payments.
But after days of brainstorming, arguments and deliberations, we were able to redefine the scope of our project. As you already know, the name of our app is “FoodAviz”, an app that allows restaurants to track orders, notify employees and manage payments.
On the other side of the customers (because, we aren’t offering value if the customers aren’t considered!), when a customer place an order with the restaurant, a link will be generated by the app and sent to the customer immediately! This link, will allow the customer place order, make payments and track his/her order until delivery! Amazing right? It’s wider than that, but don’t let me serve you the meal at once!
Every hands in the team has been on deck. The following is the summary of what some tracks have been up to.
The customer relationship managers carried out their work effortlessly! They were able to pick a CRM tool that works best for them, they also came up with a long list of FAQs that might be asked by the potential users and were able to answer them.
The PRD and user flow drafted by the product managers will amaze you! They didn’t do it based on what they think the users would want, no! A market research was done! It wasn’t their research alone; the digital marketers also made a market research which helped in understanding our target audience and creating the buyer personas.
The graphics designers have also done a great job in creating a brand identity design and a team flyer, as you can see below.
The video animators came ready! I was wowed by what I saw! The video animation they created explained perfectly (in a lay man’s words), the functions and benefits of the app.
The UI/UX designers are not sleeping! They have been working tirelessly and have been able to come up with most of the application wireframes.
Overall, we all have been putting a lot of effort into the success of this project, we have been ensuring every aspect of the project is carried out perfectly! and let me tell you a secrete, the food is cooking very well!
We don't hesitate to cancel an idea when there is a better option or when a result isn't satisfactory, no matter the effort we have put into it. The ride hasn't been smooth and it's not going to be overall smooth(that's a fact!), but we hope for success. Wish us well.
