Social Media Management is a vague term representing various user activities on Social Media Networks by Organizations aimed at boasting engagement on generated contents and turning these engagements into business leads that bring in profits for the organization, Business or Brand the user represents.

These activities include: Analyzing relevant Social Media Content by other social media users, Developing a similar strategy for creating unique media content, Creating and distributing these generated content on the brands social media profiles, Monitoring online conversations sparked by these contents, Collaborating with Influencers to increase the reach of these contents, Measuring and Reporting on various social media performances of the contents.

Social Media Management as a field in Business Branding and PR is vital in the marketplace as the potential of Social Networks for Business growth is immense. Social Media Management is also key in raising Brand awareness to increase patronage especially for new Businesses with limited funding and human resources to sponsor traditional advertising costs. With more and more businesses going digital in the 21st Century, and incorporating the use of Technology in its execution processes, it is imperative that corporate organizations know how to effectively carry out social media management and understand what it actually entails.
