My plans for 2023 Hackathon Season
Hello everyone ๐ I'm back with this new article and a new challenge with you. In this article, I'll share some tips and hacks about hackathons and my experiences of participating in MLH GHW INIT 2023 hackathon.
What is a hackathon?
Hackathon is an event in which large number of folks participate together to engage in collaborative computer programming.
Some hackathons are held online and some are held offline. After the wave of pandemic, most of the hackathons are held online nowadays.
Benefits of participating in a hackathon
- Experience of doing team work
- Opportunities to network and connect with various folks around the world
- Learning something new tech/tech stack from the workshops
- Opportunities to win some awesome swag
- Building new project together in a team, and a lot more...
What is GHW INIT 2023?
INIT is a celebration for the start of the 2023 hackathon season hosted by Major Hacking League, also known as MLH on short. It is a week-long hackathon uniting hackers all over the globe. In this hackathon, we're given some daily challenges to complete and submit. There are tons of workshops held everyday to learn some awesome things and build some coolest projects.

My learnings from GHW INIT
I learnt a lot and also leraning too as the week-long hackathon hasn't ended yet. Some of these are as follows:
- Explored Wix, Twilio and Appwrite
- Learnt a little about Blockchain Development and also completed the challenge of getting started with Deso.
- Had a lot of fun in the no-light mini event.
- Got to know many new things about MLH and MLH fellowship
- Got connected with many folks around the world
- Learnt a little about Machine learning and the most important one is exploring Amazon Alexa and making a skill using it.
- Explored a lot of challenges and truly speaking it's like a productive week.
Plans for 2023 hackathon season
My plan for the 2023 hackathon season is to participate in more hackathon as much as I can and make some awesome projects to add in my portfolio and upgrade my skill set and also to get connected with folks in the process. Truly speaking, hackathons are fun and if you haven't tried it, then just go and try it out now.
