JavaScript is not for me
Javascript isn't for me.
This is a confession that was very heavy for me to make and surprisingly filled me with a lot of shame because everybody I have been learning coding with has been doing incredible stuff using Javascript with ease.
So I have been transitioning to programming from marketing and sales for almost a year and so far a summary of the timeline:
March 10th, 2021: I ran my first HTML code and it felt good but it all went down when I learned that HTML isn't an actual programming language so I advanced my skills in HTML, #CSS, and JavaScript. I was okay with learning Javascript because it has a lot of libraries and frameworks, but for a long time, I struggled with getting it to stick and especially as my focus is back-end.
June 30th, 2022: Javascript has been a heavy challenge so I decided to begin a different path to my short-term goal of working as a Backend Developer or Database Administrator. I ran my first #python code, way beyond the traditional print("Hello, World!"). The beauty of this change is that I am not starting from scratch as I am now very familiar with basic programming concepts. In the image attached, I made use of the if-else concept.
What I Learned So Far Programming is not hard especially if you find the path that feels natural to you. In a total round of 32 study hours, I have achieved so much more with Python than I did with Javascript. Maybe, it's too soon to say but Python is so easy to navigate honestly, I don't know why I didn't consider it earlier.
If Javascript programming didn't work for you initially, how did you navigate it?
