General Rant
I can't believe it's week eight already😭😭😭😭😭. I'm going to miss this; writing every week, having to check in constantly with my mentors. I'd still be contributing to my organisation, but it's going to be different. I'm curious to see what my last moment's reflection on the internship would be like.
Stuff I Learned This Week?
- This week I volunteered to review metrics for the DEI workgroup in our community. They do amazing work and are responsible for diversity, equity and inclusion. They create metrics and badge other open source communities/events according to these metrics to adequately measure their health as a community or event. Health in the sense of their responsiveness and welcoming attitude towards newcomers, already existing members, and active or non-active contributors.
I used to have trouble understanding what these metrics mean and how they affected these organizations, but reviewing the documents and reading more on them helped me know better.
Super amazing stuff for real.
Pats On The Back?
- Volunteered to help out in the organization.
- Spoke at a twitter space. As usual, it was scary at first, but once it started I got into the vibe and was just chill. It was also really cool that my friends showed up for support.
Anything else?
No, I don't think so.
Ciao, mis amores!
