What is Programming?

The word programming comes from the word program which mean to bound a machine to perform a particular task in a particular manner. From decades, programming has been used in multiples fields to take work from the machines in the required manner. Programming is done on a computer by writing set of instructions while using a valid syntax. Syntax means the rule which we need to follow in order to write program in that language.

Program

A program is a set of instruction which directs a computer to perform a particular task in a particular manner. In order to write a program we need to use a programming language. Programming languages have their own syntax i.e. rules and we cannot violate them. The syntax of programming is not that easy and one need to learn it. Learning a programming language is not similar to learning concepts of chemistry and biology in fact it comes by doing a lot of practice. Making a lot of programs will lead to learning. Some popular programming languages are

  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • Java
  • C++
  • Swift
  • C#
  • PHP

What can be done by Programming?

We can do a number of tasks by programming for example;

  • We can create attractive and responsive websites
  • We can make chat bots
  • We can develop mobile and desktop applications
  • We can make intranet network for a private organization
  • We can program a server which will respond to a query

Should we learn programming in 2022?

The short answer is YES, because programming is becoming popular say by day. On a presents day its scope is more than the previous day. One of the highly paid task internationally is Software Developing. It can be done by joining a software house or one can do freelancing. Having superb skills can land you a job but its not a child play to learn programming in a short period of time. Consistency is something which matters a lot in this career so have some patience while learning.
