How to delete unlinked folders from iCloud

You might have installed and removed lots of applications if you are somehow like me. The problem is App Folders that are stored in iCloud can not be deleted easily. The bird daemon will re-download the folder from the cloud if you try.

  1. Uninstall the application on all devices

  2. Delete the folder in the iCloud web interface

  3. Delete every folder related to the application from
    ~/Library/Application Support/CloudDocs/session/containers

  4. Delete every folder related to the application from
    ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents/

  5. Relaunch the Finder by ⌥ + right-click the icon

Note: Use rm -rf to remove the files at step 3 and step 4. You can select all the folders you want to delete by dragging them into the Terminal window.
