Here is how to win any client after they respond to your proposal!

Any client seems like an overreach, right? On the contrary, all clients are the same in one unique way. They are all searching for solutions to their problems as a business or a brand.

So, whether you are a copywriter like me, clients will be looking to boost website traffic, convert leads to customers, and generate revenue. If you are a graphic artist, you will meet clients who want their designs to resonate with their customers. Ultimately, clients want their businesses to improve, and they are looking for professionals like you to make that happen.

However, many freelancers lose great opportunities because of their inability to recognize what is most important in that conversation with the potential client.

Many freelancers will agree that getting a job can be extremely difficult. If you are not at the top of the proverbial "freelance ladder," you will have to send many proposals before you get a response.

So what do you do when you get a response and remember that you may not be the only one the client is talking to?

Research about the client and the business

Remember, you do not have the luxury of time. So after you send a proposal, get to know more about the client. If they have a website, check it out.

Compare that website with others leading in the industry and highlight what they are missing.

Once you get the information, look for solutions to the areas where the business is failing. Look at your report on your industry. How can your services improve the aspects of that business that are failing?

Listen to the client.

When the client sends a message, you know a fair amount about their business and what they want to achieve. However, you can skip jumping ahead. Calm down and let the client tell you what he needs. Allow them to voice out what is really hurting their business and why they need you.

Empathize with them.

After you listen to them, ensure you let them know you understand their frustrations. Ask them pertinent questions that demonstrate your dedication to the project. From your research on their business and their needs, you can ask insightful questions about what they think about your solution.

Hammer home your ideas.

From the questions and the answers, they give you. Show them why you are the right person for the job. Let the research you have conducted speak for itself. Here, your experience in your field and their business goals will have to align. Now, show them how your skills can help them actualize their goals, which you discussed throughout the conversation.

These simple steps will help you convert the clients that reach out to you via message. However, there is one thing you must do. This helped me a lot, especially in converting clients who are still determining what they want.

Please answer all of their questions without showing signs of stress. When you answer the questions, show that you are a professional, be assertive, and let them know from your experience that you have seen results from the method you want to use.

Be confident; you are in charge. The clients will listen to you.
