What is the Internet? What is a web browser? What is a Browser engine?
1. What is the internet? Explain in your own words.
Ans: INTERNET stands for Interconnected Network is a network system that connects millions of web servers. The Internet uses the standard Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Every computer on the Internet is identified with a unique IP address. The IP address is a unique set of numbers (like 110.22. 33.114) that identifies the location of a computer.
When a client requests something, for example, pwskills.com then it sends a request to the server from where data is being fetched and the client gets the data that it has requested and there is no involvement of the network. This whole process is made easy by the internet for example Jio, airtel, and broadband services.
2. What is a web browser? Explain in your own words.
Ans: A web browser takes you anywhere on the Internet. It retrieves information from other parts of the web and displays it on your desktop or mobile device. Information is transferred using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol, which describes how to transfer text, images, and video across the web.
Considering applications like Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc all have in-built web browsers i.e different URLs in such platform open in that particular application itself and it is not redirected to some other web browsers because if it redirects then when a user clicks a link and redirects to a different web browser then the client i.e web browser or mobile or desktop have to make several calls to the server in order to make the request successful. So, to avoid all these complex applications developers have started loading the total webpage in its application so that the user experience remains easy and smooth.
In other words, a web browser is a tool or software that helps to visualize my website. Different types of internet browsers include Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge.
3. What is a browser engine? Explain in your own words.
Ans: A browser engine is a software that is integrated with a web browser just to work properly. It is a core software component of every major web browser. YouTube is one of the most dominant video platforms on the Internet. Apart from its features as a social networking site**,** YouTube is known as the second most visited search engine in the world.
For example- the Gecko engine used by Mozilla, the v8 engine used by Chrome, etc
