My Peculiar Journey as a Programmer

My Personality

I summarily believe my personality is about being an earthly vessel burying God's precious treasures and I am never too cock-sure of myself.

Meanwhile, I am an inquisitive being. Ever since my teen years, I have been quite curious as well as observant. I am a fan of asking questions whenever I am confused or simply want to learn more. I picture solutions to huge problems in my head: one such is imagining if there could be a mathematical formula for fire, that would make us know the exact way to curtail all fire outbreaks or not even let them occur. Such a formula would help us stop the destruction from bombs since after all, the main power of most weapons of destruction today is to somehow cause fire and burning.

I did know I would love to be a troubleshooter providing solutions to what would-be people's diverse problems based on my knowledge and wisdom.

The Preliminary

I never saw programming coming in all of those years until my second year in college in pursuit of my Bachelor of Science degree. I was introduced to the Python Programming Language as part of the requirements to pass a borrowed course from the Computer Department. My exposure to this course and its effect on me over the years is one of the reasons I believe, after all, the school may not give us all we need but just a few important tips to lead us to our various dreamlands in life.

When a smoker gets to a new town, it takes him a few days to locate where to get his items to smoke within the new environment. What's responsible? A drive-or better call it, an inner longing

After taking the lessons on python in those days, I knew I had been magnetized to what would be a tool for me to realize myself. Something on Logic, something about solving problems by reasoning and by logic. At least this would help me achieve this on the plane of computing that allows me to utilize programming languages.

And after the encounter of those days, It would not be long before I got the list of my areas of interest in life ready which are the 4Ms and of course Programming comes under the M termed Machines. Yes! my love for machines and solving logical problems with the computer machine in particular. It's amazing!!!

The Pursuit

Well, my pursuit to be sincere had been plagued with inconsistencies over the years; partly because I was engaged with other disciplines in academics aside from a programming course with python (which I only took for two semesters); partly also because in those years, I lacked a suitable mentor for myself. I didn't know what to do with programming. However, the inner longing and drive that has drawn me to programming remained as strong as ever.

while ('The inner drive for programming remains strong as ever'):
print('You are not likely not to always find motivation to continue')

After writing my first "Hello world" program in python, I had in recent years come to fall in love with these fields of Programming :

Back End Programming

As I had stated afore, I am given to logic and while I appreciate design, I find more interest in dealing with how things work than how they should look like.

I use back-end languages which include but are not limited to PHP, Python and their respective popular frameworks which include Laravel and Django respectively. I am not limited to just the languages and frameworks I have mentioned since after all what I am mainly tied to is a love for logic and not just the languages and tools that make it happen when it comes to computing machines and programming languages.

Data Science & Machine Learning

A single death is a tragedy, but a million death is a statistic

As comical or however, as the quote may sound, knowing it, at least, lets one know that while people may grieve over a few souls and loved ones, witnessing death on a large scale such as in wars, brutal killings etc (often occasioned by hatred and grievances) may just be as watching the latest movie at prime time. It's best to resolve the grievances at a discussion table than on the battlefields because the death of more will just be mere counting.

I love Data Science because it helps to derive insights from data as well as build models that can one make the most important decisions.

I am also intrigued by Artificial Intelligence as well as Deep learning since its got to do with brains, giving brains and logic to computers.

Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking

A true warrior is well qualified when he has mastered both abilities to work on the offensive and the defensive.

One of the best things I l love is logic, knowing how things work. But not only that, but I've also got to use my knowledge to defend assets as well as computer hardware and software infrastructures. This is what has motivated me to take the pains to learn the ropes of becoming an expert here as well.

My Portfolio

Well, I have worked and still working. I have got to realize that one of the best ways to survive is by being project-oriented. When you learn 30% in theory, do 70% of practical stuff with it.

My Parting Words

Before you remove any fence, always pause long enough to know why it was put there in the first place. The reason is that not all fences are barriers, some are also borders to guide.

God has placed those interests in our hearts for a reason. Find out your dreams and interests in life and then secure a drive, and you will surely be on your way to a good destination and finding true fulfillment very easy in life
