_Preamble_

Growth into any industry is one that contains hurdles, but how does one who's a recent graduate, grow successively into the industry, specifically one regarding the engineering profession?

Personally, I have just graduated, that is, completed my undergraduate electrical & electronic engineering degree study, I am on the verge of beginning growth within the industry, it's for sure commencing as a bumpy road ( a story for another day). Aside that, what is important; is how one may compound in growth with time, as the famous & insightful physicist in time, Albert Einstein said, and I paraphrase; Compounding is the most powerful force in the universe, and as Elon Musk also includes; that he would not want watch it happen, but rather be part of it. One's journey towards achieving greatness is a worthwhile vision to be of mission with, and as an engineer to be, realization of envisioned projects is of a worthy ideal.

_Introduction_

It can be challenging for a graduate engineer to gain experience and grow professionally while dealing with the day-to-day demands of life. However, with dedication and a strategic approach, it is possible to land projects and gain valuable experience that can help you in your career. In this article, we will discuss some strategies and techniques that can help graduate engineers grow and get projects.

_Networking_

One of the most important things you can do as a graduate engineer is to network with other professionals in your field. This can be done by attending industry events, joining professional organizations, or even just reaching out to other engineers on LinkedIn. Building relationships with other professionals can open up new opportunities for projects and collaborations, and can also provide valuable advice and mentorship.

_Volunteering_

Another way to gain experience and get projects as a graduate engineer is to offer your services as a volunteer. Many organizations and nonprofits need engineers to help with various projects, and volunteering can provide a way to gain experience and make a positive impact in your community. Additionally, volunteering can help you build relationships and networks with other professionals in your field.

_Online Portfolio_

Having an online portfolio is another great way to showcase your skills and experience. This can be a website or social media page that highlights your past projects, your education and any relevant experience you may have. An online portfolio can help potential clients and employers understand what you have to offer and can make it easier for them to find you when they're looking for engineers to work on a project.

_Project Search_

As a graduate engineer, you can also actively search for projects to work on. For example, you can reach out to companies or organizations you are interested in working with and find out about opportunities they may have. You can also use online platforms like LinkedIn to find project opportunities or even offer your services to clients and companies through freelance marketplaces.

_Conclusion_

All in all, growing as a graduate engineer and getting projects can be challenging, but it is not impossible. Through networking, volunteering, building an online portfolio and actively seeking projects, you can gain valuable experience and advance your career. It is important to be proactive, persistent and open to new opportunities. Remember that your journey as an engineer will not be linear, but through hard work and determination, you will be able to grow and achieve your professional goals.
