DevOps Pe Charcha Jan-2023

Hello Connections, hope you are doing well in your life…

It is now Day 15 of the #90days initiative, and I would like to take this opportunity to share some of the feedback I have received. As part of this initiative, I have decided to publish technical blogs from Monday to Friday and to cover topics related to self-development, time management, and productivity on weekends.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend the DevOps Engineer pe Charcha 2023 event. It was a truly enlightening session, where I had the chance to listen to some of the top DevOps Engineers share their life experiences and best practices for achieving DevOps-related goals. The following individuals were among the panelists:

Shubham Londhe, Remote Software Engineer for a London-based company and host of the event.
Piyush sachdeva, Technical Solutions Developer at Google.
Abhishek Veeramalla, Building GitOps Solutions at Red Hat.
Praveen Singampalli, DevOps Engineer III at Walmart.
Prerit Munjal, 14x Microsoft Azure and 8x Google Cloud Certified, Azure Solutions Architect, and DevOps Expert.
Ravish Rawat, DevOps & Cloud Practitioner at GlobalLogic.

The following are some of the highlights of the event, including questions asked of the panelists and their answers:

Question 1: What knowledge is expected of a fresher entering the DevOps field?

Answer: To be considered for a role in DevOps, it is essential to prove that one is familiar with the technologies used in the field. This can be demonstrated by creating a DevOps project and maintaining its repository on GitHub. Interviewers often check a candidate's GitHub and LinkedIn profiles.

Question 2: What are the pillars of DevOps?
Answer: There are eight pillars of DevOps:
🧑‍💻 Linux Understanding and Networking, OS, and DBMS fundamentals
🧑‍💻 Source Control Management (SCM), such as Git & GitHub, GitLab, or Bit Bucket
🧑‍💻Cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
🧑‍💻 Containerization (Docker)
🧑‍💻 Container Orchestration (Kubernetes)
🧑‍💻 Infrastructure Provisioning Tool (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, etc.)
🧑‍💻 Infrastructure Management Tool (Ansible, Puppet, or Cheff)
🧑‍💻 CI/CD Pipeline Process (Jenkins, AWS DevOps, Azure DevOps, etc.)

In conclusion, these projects will provide opportunities to learn about various tools and also allow you to troubleshoot and resolve errors as they arise. I hope this blog provides useful information, and I encourage all readers to continue learning and improving themselves. I extend my gratitude to the host Shubham Londhe, expert guests Piyush sachdeva Abhishek Veeramalla, Praveen Singampalli, Prerit Munjal, Ravish Rawat, and mentor Tausief Shaikh for their guidance and support. May you all be blessed with happiness and joy...
