The use of the RPA is increasing rapidly in industries, in terms of geographies and organizations. In an organization, the use of the RPA comes with benefits which include a reduction of cost, optimization of the operation, improvement of the customer experience, fewer errors and more.

AI usage is different as it focuses only on human intelligence stimulation. It is a combination of ML, hypothesis generation, NLP, and mutation of algorithms that can produce insights and analytics on a different scale than human beings.

The difference between the RPA and Artificial Intelligence can be described through some of the following points: -

  1. Grunting vs Thinking

Grunting is the working part of the RPA, whereas Artificial Intelligence is primarily concerned with the perspective of thinking and learning.

For example: - the supplier has sent you the electronic invoices for the email, and with the help of the RPA, the grunting work is done. Whereas AI is primarily focused on reading the invoices and extracting information like supplier names, invoice due dates, voice subscriptions and more.

  2. Process-oriented Vs Data-Oriented

RPA is all about process-based oriented work. The main purpose of the RPA is to make the user or any employee of any company free themselves from mundane, repetitive work.

AI on the other hand is all about data-based oriented. It mainly focuses on good-quality data. For example: - let us take an example of invoice processing where we need to focus on finding sufficient sample invoices to train our machine learning algorithms and also to ensure their quality good. So the task will be there of to select an algorithm that will be appropriate and train it for recognizing new invoices faster than humans.
