From Engineering to Data Science: My Journey of Learning and Giving Back to the Community

Growing up in Ogun, Nigeria, I always had a passion for technology. As a kid, I loved tinkering with computers and dreamed of one day creating my mobile apps. In 2016, I began learning mobile app development using XML and Java. However, due to laptop issues, I was unable to continue my studies.

Fast forward to 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, I finally got a new laptop and discovered the exciting field of data science. I fell in love with working with data and quickly learned skills in Excel, SQL, Power BI, R, and Python.

It was then that I came across Kunal Kushwaha's playlist on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and was inspired to start blogging as a developer. I joined Hashnode and began sharing my experiences and learnings with the world. I realized that by giving back to the community, I was not only helping others but also deepening my understanding of data science.

My interest in humanoid robotics led me to create the "LearningProgramming" newsletter, where I share my insights on how AI and data science are shaping the future. I believe that by sharing my experiences, I can help others achieve their own goals and create a better future for all of us.

Through hard work, dedication, and a willingness to learn, I went from an engineering background to become a data science enthusiast and blogger. I hope that my story can inspire others to pursue their passions, give back to their communities, and create the future they want.

Why do I need Your Help?

How I'm Empowering the Data Science Community and Why I Need Your Support:

As a data science enthusiast and blogger, I've dedicated myself to sharing my knowledge and experiences with the world. Through my blog on Hashnode and my "LearningProgramming" newsletter, I've been able to connect with others in the data science community, exchange ideas, and help others achieve their goals. By sharing my experiences and knowledge, I hope to inspire others to pursue careers in technology and see the beauty of what it can do for their communities and the world.

I also recognize that not everyone has had the same opportunities and access to resources that I've had.

That's why I'm committed to using my knowledge and experiences to empower underrepresented communities in tech, especially those in Africa. As a black nation, Africa is often underrepresented in the technology industry, and I believe that we need more voices and perspectives from our continent to create a more diverse and inclusive tech ecosystem.

However, creating quality content and maintaining a blog and newsletter takes time, effort, and resources. That's why I'm asking for your support.

By sponsoring my blog and newsletter, you'll be helping me continue to create valuable content and grow the data science community. Your support will allow me to invest in better equipment, attend conferences and events, and collaborate with other experts in the field.

Through my blog and newsletter, I'm not only sharing my insights but also promoting the work of others in the field. With your support, I can continue to promote the growth and development of the data science community.

By sponsoring my work, you'll not only be supporting me, but you'll also be contributing to the advancement of technology and the creation of a better future for all of us. I believe that with your help, we can make a difference in the world.

Join me in empowering the data science community by sponsoring my blog and newsletter. Together, we can create a brighter future for all.

Going forward, you can expect to see programming content on DSA with Java, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

If you love to be part of this, subscribe to my newsletter here to ensure you don't miss any updates from me.

Thanks for reading!

James.
