What is Hackathon?

We all are familiar with the word Marathon. It's all about completing the pathway by running in a certain amount of time. Likewise, Hackathon is a competition, rather than what we can call a collaboration where people from different backgrounds join together and make something cool and amazing project work. The main motto of the hackathon is to collect the best mind of the locality where people will compete with other teams and build something unique and useful. Folks with different mindsets can join the hackathon team and work together on a specific idea/theme/problem statement.

Okay, now you will be thinking about the formation of a team. So well, if the ultimate goal is to make something unique and useful why not make a product that solves a real-life problem? To perform and execute that in a perfect manner, a team should contain One Frontend Developer, One Backend Developer, One Designer, and others about the presentation and research part.

What is Hack4Bengal?

Hack4Bengal is a local community in the region of West Bengal. In India, there are multiple amazing minds around the nation, but monetization and passing through the proper channel is also important thing to express talent to the world. Especially in Bengal, the area of the most talented people and many talented scientists, physicists, and mathematicians born here and served the whole nation. Why not the same for the students? The culture of West Bengal does not support to uplift students for doing crazy stuff and motivating them to do more. Hack4Bangal is a community of developers where people from different regions of West Bengal have joined the community and are continuously involved in the community to grow and expand forward!

Importance of local community

There are many amazing communities and they all are doing really well, the mission is to educate the folks by providing high-quality content and helping them to build and grow their network surrounded by amazing folks who are in the path of passion and dedication to a particular goal. In local community, we get a chance to meet with like-minded people, community members, managers and so on. In large communities like FlutterKolkata, Hack4Bengal, and FossKolkata are some passionate local communities in eastern Kolkata.

Origin of this culture

Every event has its own seed of origin. Community is basically driven by the people, we all are people/developers who want to collaborate and help each other to grow and help each other to keep our level up and create a potential environment for the folks who are new in the community. In today's time most Open Source Project has their own community and people around the world discuss together and help each other to work and contribute to the particular part of the project. If they find any issue they work on it and resolve it. In this way, the open-source community becomes a developers-driven community. But in every open source community, the communication happens totally on a remote basis. If the same thing happens in offline/in-person many more people will be aware of it.
