When I was Discriminated
Its been a while since I penned down something
Thwart the artistic moves to be rewind up again....
And that reminds me of an inspiring story to share. Have you ever faced decrimination in your life? Last week when I was filling out a scholarship application I recalled an old incidence.
The story dates around four years back, lemme get the plot clear. I belong to a small district in Kerala and my father is a Government employee so we were posted in Gwalior that time. It was a completely new place, new school, new friends and lot more. But this place was a different experience.
Without lagging much I'll briefly explain. One day our tutor came up with a Declamation contest and was super excited for this. Whithout any other thoughts I registered and started preparing for it. The preliminary selection was done by a team of five teachers. Six of us were there to speak. And now it was my turn, I gave my part very well. I was extremely happy to find the judging panel pleased with me and stood up and appreciated and guaranteed my selection. But since then the twist begins. My tutor was not much fond of me and wanted her pet student to get selected. When I approached her with my idea, she shattered me by saying how can a South Indian participate in such a prestigious event and started bullying me. I was broken and she made me withdraw from the event. The moment was terrible.
However it didn't end here. There was a saviour who was watching all this. Two years later the second edition of declamation was launched and this time the incharge was a different ma'am. She knew the whole story and wanted to give me an opportunity. I selected and started grooming me. And to my surprise I secured first position. This was a big achievement for me. After being rejected once my story didn't end there I wanted to prove myself and was selected for district level and secured second position there. This had been a big achievement for school as well as no one from our school had been till district level.
No doubt, people will reject you, criticize you and pull you back but one day will come where you will fight and be on top and others will admire you. This win priced a lot to me. And do u know the fun fact, the teacher who decriminated me had also come up with a contestant she wanted her to win but had to selfishly smirk at my win. You can recreate history if you wish to. And thats when life means a lot to you. Keep trying, never withdraw, cause the glorious win is awaiting you.
I guess I didn't bore you with this clutter
Pen down all the best moments. It will bring smile to your face and let you know how great you were and are
