Starting off as a solopreneur

Over the past 8 years, I've volunteered with small non-profits, mostly with small budgets, but some with a budget to support the cost of a decent web presence.

Fast forward to 2022, I built a website for a 501c3 on WordPress. It was a migration project from an older version of Drupal to WordPress with a customized theme built on Elementor. I realized that I was able to solve their problem in a short amount of time and I did it for $500. I also realized how many other non-profits needed help with their digital presence. By helping non-profits with that presence, people can support or be part of their cause easier or donate to it.

This year I decided to make my solopreneur agency called FairSites which will start with just building websites on WordPress for 501c3 non-profits, but eventually, expand into other services as I learn them (like SEO), or contract work out.I don't want to just make websites, I want the website to solve a problem for them and help them grow. I want it to become a digital asset.

At the same time, I also want this to be financially sustainable for me. I'm just getting started with cold outreach. My first goal is to get to $1,000-200 MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue) through new builds, flips, and a basic maintenance service package.
