Conclusion
Generative AI for G-mail :
In 2017, Google released Smart Reply, which provided short responses that could be selected with a click. Later, they introduced Smart Compose, which offered suggestions while writing emails.
Now, as part of a Workspace update, they are set to release "Help Me Write." This feature allows you to input a prompt conveying the content of your email, and it generates the body by understanding the context from previous emails.
Suppose you have ordered a product online, and due to some defect, you want to return it and get a refund. You just need to click on "Reply," and a prompt will appear. Enter the request for a full refund for the product and click "Create."
It will generate a draft by extracting information from the previous email and providing the specified context. You can further refine it by clicking on "Elaborate."
Generative AI for Google Maps :
In last year's Google I/O, Google announced Immersive View, which creates a high-fidelity representation of a place so that we can view it before visiting.
This time, Immersive View for routes will be implemented in Google Maps. Simply enter a starting point and destination, and a route will appear.
By clicking on "Immersive View for routes," you will get an entire route's bird's-eye view, allowing you to travel along your route, check air quality, monitor traffic, and view weather conditions.
It is scheduled for release by the end of summer and will be available in 15 cities by the end of the year, including London, New York, Tokyo, and San Francisco.
Generative AI for Google Photos :
In 2015, Google introduced a search feature for Google Photos that enabled users to search for pictures based on entered keywords. Later on, Google introduced the Magic Eraser, utilizing AI-powered photography techniques to remove unwanted distractions from photos.
Continuing the advancements, Google has recently announced the Magic Editor, leveraging semantic understanding and generative AI.
The Magic Editor empowers users to effectively edit photos by enhancing lighting, making background modifications, removing objects, and even reconstructing missing portions of an image by generating spots that were cut off in the original picture. The Magic Editor is scheduled to roll out later this year.
PaLM 2: A general-purpose AI model :
PaLM 2 is a state-of-the-art language model with improved multilingual, reasoning, and coding capabilities.
Multilinguality: PaLM 2 undergoes extensive training on multilingual text, encompassing over 100 languages. This extensive training has greatly enhanced its capacity to comprehend, generate, and translate nuanced text, encompassing idioms, poems, and riddles, across a diverse range of languages. Tackling this challenging task is no small feat. Furthermore, PaLM 2 demonstrates exceptional proficiency in the language by successfully passing advanced language proficiency exams at the "mastery" level.
Enhanced Reasoning: Thanks to its comprehensive dataset, which encompasses scientific papers and web pages featuring mathematical expressions, PaLM 2 exhibits notable advancements in logic, common sense reasoning, and mathematics. This enriched dataset empowers PaLM 2 with improved abilities to handle complex logical and mathematical concepts, thereby expanding its reasoning capabilities.
Coding Proficiency: PaLM 2 underwent pre-training using extensive publicly available source code datasets. As a result, it possesses exceptional skills in widely used programming languages such as Python and JavaScript. Moreover, PaLM 2 showcases its versatility by generating specialized code in languages like Prolog, Fortran, and Verilog. Its comprehensive training enables PaLM 2 to excel in various coding languages, empowering it to handle diverse programming tasks.
The enhanced multilingual capabilities of PaLM 2, extend Bard to additional languages, beginning today. Furthermore, PaLM 2 serves as the driving force behind our recently announced coding update, further amplifying its capabilities in the realm of programming.
The workspace features integrated into Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets are designed to enhance your writing experience and streamline the organization. PaLM 2's swift processing enables users to accomplish work more efficiently and effectively, fostering productivity and speed.
Introducing Med-PaLM 2, a cutting-edge language model developed by Google's health research teams. It excels in answering questions and summarizing complex medical texts, setting new benchmarks in medical competence. Med-PaLM 2 is the first large language model to achieve "expert" level performance on U.S. Medical Licensing Exam-style questions. With added multimodal capabilities, it synthesizes information from various sources like x-rays and mammograms, aiming to improve patient outcomes. To ensure safe and effective utilization, Google is opening Med-PaLM 2 to a select group of Cloud customers for feedback, identifying valuable use cases this summer.
Bard: Conversational, AI chat service
Google Bard is now equipped with the cutting-edge power of Google's latest and most advanced large language model (LLM), PaLM 2. This groundbreaking technology was unveiled during the highly anticipated Google I/O event in 2023.
Building upon its predecessor, PaLM 2 represents a significant leap forward in terms of efficiency, performance, and issue resolution. With this enhanced capability, Bard is poised to excel even further, delivering remarkable results and surpassing previous limitations.
Bard has been upgraded with a wide range of capabilities to provide better and more effective solutions for coders. Bard has been enhanced with code generation, code debugging, and code explanation features.
Bard has learned over 20+ coding languages, including Java, JavaScript, C++, Python, Kotlin, and even Google Sheets.
Suppose you are playing chess and want to implement Scholar's Mate move. Bard allows you to provide input via prompt and provides a solution for it. You can also use Bard to understand code by prompting, "Could you tell me what this code does?" Additionally, you can ask Bard to improve the code or even rebuild your code. Bard enables developers to collaborate using Replit and Google Colab, starting with Python. From now on, Bard also offers a dark theme option.
Bard will be equipped with Google tools like Gmail and Google Search to provide a wide range of services to users. Additionally, Bard will have access to Google Lens and Google Maps. It will be capable of structuring and organizing data, and even transferring data into Google Sheets. This allows Bard to collaborate seamlessly across all Google apps.
Bard will be able to tap into various services across the web. It will have the ability to communicate with Replit, Spotify, Walmart, Adobe, Indeed, and many more. Soon, Bard will also be able to generate images using Adobe Firefly, unlocking a new realm of creative possibilities that are faster and more efficient.
Bard is now accessible in over 180 countries and territories, primarily in English. However, it will soon be able to understand other languages as well, starting with Japanese and Korean. Furthermore, Bard is continuously improving and will eventually support over 40 languages.
