AWS Wavelength

AWS Wavelength is a service offered by AWS that brings the power of AWS compute and storage capabilities to the edge of 5G networks. It provides ultra-low latency connectivity between 5G devices and AWS services, enabling developers to build applications that require real-time and near-real-time responsiveness.

With AWS Wavelength, application data can be processed at the edge of the 5G network, significantly reducing the round-trip time between devices and the cloud. This is crucial for latency-sensitive use cases such as immersive video streaming, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), online gaming, industrial automation, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Key features and benefits of AWS Wavelength include:

  1. Low Latency: AWS Wavelength minimizes the latency between 5G devices and the application servers hosted in Wavelength Zones, located at the edge of 5G networks. This reduces the time taken for data to travel back and forth, enabling real-time and highly responsive applications.
