JavaScript vs React.js

If you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original" - Ken Robinson.

Yeah, It's me again.

Today was one of those days, cozy but I had to be in between my laptop and my chair. It's still the same love-hate relationship, you'd think it gets better. Well, working on a project and learning something new makes you realize you took the right decision by not lazying in bed all day. I would say I was very impressed with myself today.

"...I only have one regret which I would be writing about in my next article..."

Remember this line from my previous post?? Yeah, the one regret I have is not grinding JavaScript the same way and time I was chewing HTML and CSS. Well, I'll shed light on my JavaScript struggles in my next post.

Today, I worked on a calculator project using REACT, ikr, I didn't react to REACT the way I thought I would. I lowkey cannot even believe I am building a working calculator step by step, and how am I just reading 'bout JSX today?? I also read more into prop-types as I was having some errors with it in my code today. Somehow, REACT seems more understandable and less complicated to me than JavaScript but I like complicated.

Well here's a UI of my calculator project today;

I love my understanding of CSS grid for this project too, who would've thought!?

Here are the articles that helped keep me sane to solve the errors I was having with my codes earlier today;

Read this for some insights into JSX

Try out this React prop challenge.

This YouTube video really helped my understanding of using Grid for easier styling of this project(check it out!).

More progress reports coming up... I'm excited as well...

Hey there! I’m Joy Tari-Bagshaw, a passionate software developer with 3+ years of experience and a deep love for teaching and learning. As the first female Google Developers Student Club Lead at my university, I’ve mentored countless beginners, facilitated bootcamps, and helped aspiring developers land their first tech roles.After teaching at several bootcamps, I’ve realized the urgent need for this blog. The limited time frame of most programs often doesn’t allow for in-depth learning, and I wanted to create a space that simplifies complex topics while giving beginners the time and resources they need to truly grasp them.Every day, I get messages from people asking for advice on how to start or grow in tech. That’s why I’m on a mission to make web development simple and accessible for everyone through my blog series, Build, Break, Debug, Repeat. Whether you’re a total newbie or leveling up your skills, I’m here to guide you with resources, tutorials, and a sprinkle of humor along the way.Let’s build something amazing together!
