Interacting with the Base blockchain through QuickNode

After understanding a little about Base, let's explore how QuickNode can help in our journey.
What We Will Do
What You Will Need
Create an account on QuickNode.
ETH Funds on the Ethereum Network.
What is QuickNode?
Imagine public RPC endpoints like windows into blockchain data, letting you see transactions and balances. They're open to all, like looking at a public display.
On the other hand, private RPC endpoints like QuickNode are like secured doors, allowing people to interact more safely and efficiently with the blockchain sending transactions and making changes using a special key.
Creating our secure door (RPC) on QuickNode
To create our secure door, we need to go to QuickNode.
Click on the "Create Endpoint" button.
After that, you need to select the "Base" blockchain.
In the subsequent steps, select the Base Mainnet network, and click on "Continue".
Please click on the "Create Endpoint" button.
Now, simply click the "Copy" button in the HTTP provider section.
Setting up our door (RPC) on Metamask
First you need to go to Metamask
Click on the three dots in the top-right corner on the Desktop Version. If you are on the Mobile version, click on the gear icon.
After that, search for the "Networks" section
In the next step, you will be taken to the following dashboard, where you can add the Base network.
On the next page, click on "Add a network manually".
We can now add our private RPC. You'll need to input the following details:

After that, you can switch to the Base Mainnet network.
However, please note that we need funds in Base Mainnet; for now, we will stay on the Ethereum Network.
Funding your Base wallet
To fund your wallet, you first need ETH Balance on the Ethereum Network.
After verifying if you have funds, go to: https://bridge.base.org/deposit and please connect your wallet to the site.
This is the official site from base.org to transfer funds from Ethereum to Base.
In the subsequent step, select your desired amount to transfer.
Please note that each transfer will incur a fee for moving your funds to Base.
After that, you will see a prompted Metamask notification. Click on "Confirm".
As a result, you will see a notification indicating that the transaction is in progress.
After the transaction is confirmed, you will receive this notification.
Finally you can switch to the Base mainnet network.

Buying NFTs on Base

Let's buy your first NFT on Base!
To achieve this, select your favorite NFT , in my case:

After that, click on the "Confirm" button, and you will see a Metamask notification prompted.
We will see the notification "Purchase pending", your nft is on way to your wallet!
Finally you have our nft on your wallet.
