My Second Month Experience at TIIDELab Fellowship Cohort 5
Table of contents
It's been a whole 2 months in TIIDELab Fellowship and I cannot believe it, It all seemed like yesterday when I was applying to get into the fellowship and here are we two months deep, A lot has happened during this two months, I have experienced the good, the bad, the ugly, I have laughed, I have cried, I have felt every form of emotions but in all, I have grown and that is what I am seeking.
In this article, I will be taking you through all these experiences I went through in my second month of the fellowship, so sit down and enjoy the ride while I take you through it.
JAVASCRIPT! JAVASCRIPT!! JAVASCRIPT!!!
It was a whole month of javascript, we were taught the basics and the rudiments of Javascript, the almighty Javascript ๐ .
I had always wondered how would I understand this language but to my greatest surprise, I did get it, Mr Kenny, our instructor made it very easy to understand and I commend him for that, We were given challenges to solve every basic of Javascript we were taught. I could remember telling Henry, my coding partner how simple I thought this language was beyond what I thought it was.
I did a project on javascript where I built a prototype of an ATM and I also built a prototype of a bank USSD.
You can check it on my GitHub account here: https://github.com/MarysamuelPel/Bank-USSD-Prompt.git

I learned a lot about the fundamentals of javascript, the if/else statement, the switch statement, DOM manipulation, and the loop statements and I did a lot of several side projects.
You can also check this code snap of the to-do list I created using HTML, CSS and javascript
This is the image of the simple to-do list I created with javascript according to how were taught in class.
LAGOS MEETINGS
As usual, we were meant to meet up once a month on a Friday and it is an avenue to meet with my people as I call them, I get to meet with those people I am privileged to work with every day (literally)๐.
This Friday's we are given sound professional teachings by our program coordinator, Mr. Shams, one of my favourite classes in TIIDELab because we are not only taught codes but how to be an all-round developer both in character and capacity.
During this Friday's professional classes, our heads of house are chosen by going through some tasks and whoever wins is chosen to be the head of house for the week.
EUVOLA
My people, the best team in TIIDELab, have been working a lot on our project, We have been preparing our SRS and FRD, we have been designing our UI/UX for our projects and we have been working extensively on it.
We are currently working on an Insurance sales management Application and we have been working on our UI, I have really learnt this particular skill and indeed I have fallen in love with it.
I never thought in my life I would learn it, It is funny how I thought UI/UX was more complicated than web development, but the constant practising and designing solidified my knowledge of UI/UX and I have been using it to build my team project.
Learning UI/UX and Javascript tops my gratitude list for last month and I am super excited to be building my skillset set in TIIDELab.
We have gone through some sprint presentations and we have shown the councils of elders the concurrent progress we have made in the process of creating our web app and I believe my team has been nailing it in our cooperation and in our willingness to work and learn.
CONCLUSION
It has been an awesome two months in TIIDELab and I am grateful to God for this opportunity to learn and grow in this community of the best people, best fellows and best coordinators and mentors.
See you in my next month's article, bye for now.
