The UI Makeover: From 'Trash' to 'Terrific'

If you've been following my previous blogs, you know that one of the major issues with my game was the User Interface (UI). I used free assets that didn't quite fit the vibe I wanted to create. So, what's a game developer to do? Craft my own, of course!

Designing Characters: The Pixel Art Way

To give this game the makeover it deserves, I've embarked on a character design journey. I'm using Photoshop, and I've chosen the enchanting realm of pixel art as my medium.

The characters I've set out to create include:

Vampire (Main Player): The suave vampire who's on a mission every night.
Small Kid (Food): The unsuspecting 'food' that the vampire must 'relocate.'
Knight: The mysterious knight patrolling the town.

But I'm not stopping at static character designs. To make these characters truly come to life, I'm creating them in various positions to facilitate smooth animation. We're talking walking, running, and maybe even a bit of dancing - who knows?
