Lessons Learnt From a Redesign Case Study on The New York Times Mobile App.
Hey Theređź‘‹
In this article, I'll be listing what I learned after I read the redesign case study for the New York Times. Let's dive in.
You won't know if you don't ask: if you don't get feedback from users, you won't know or understand what they go through. Asking users questions allows the designer to see from the user's perspective.
Problems should be clearly defined: a clearly defined problem is like a compass that guides the designer and it should influence the decision made by the designer.
Ideas and solutions should be validated: every potential idea or solution should be validated by carrying out a series of tests.
You can never go wrong with reiterating: this can be useful if the initial solution or idea did not give the desired results.
Conclusion
To conclude, redesigning an already existing product gives insight to what users experience and it gives room for improving the product and helps user retention.
