Adobe Firefly v2. Photorealism on demand!
This year marks a significant milestone in the world of Generative AI, with notable progress across various domains. Text and code generation models, image creation, audio synthesis and video generation models have all seen remarkable advancements.
The AI landscape has been buzzing with activity, and the major players show no signs of slowing down. Adobe, for instance, has introduced an enhanced version of its generative AI tool, Firefly. This tool specifically focuses on converting text into images.
Firefly v2 is equipped with a substantial model capacity, having been trained with a 70% larger dataset of images. This leads to a significant improvement over its predecessor, as it now has the capability to produce photorealistic images from simple prompts. What's more, it's easily accessible through the Adobe Firefly web application on your mobile phone or PC. One of the standout features of Firefly v2 is its 'Generative Match.' This functionality empowers users to create new images in the same style as existing ones. Within the Firefly web app, reference images are readily available, enabling the generation of multiple images with a consistent look and feel. Moreover, users have the flexibility to upload their own reference images, provided they have the necessary permissions.
Users can fine-tune the generated images using various Photo Settings, allowing adjustments like depth of field, motion blur, field of view, and more, much like you would with a physical camera lens. What's truly impressive is the ability to modify the visual intensity of generated images, making them more photorealistic, artistic, or surreal.
The introduction of Generative Match not only offers creative freedom but also translates to substantial time savings for content producers. It ensures that content aligns seamlessly with a brand's unique visual identity and style.
Firefly Image Model 2 is one of three foundational models Adobe announced at its annual conference, Adobe MAX. The others are Firefly Vector which will be included in its Illustrator software for text-to-vector graphics and Firefly Design. The integration of AI-powered functionalities into software like Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Adobe Stock is a testament to the transformative impact AI has had.
Notably, Photoshop paved the way with AI-powered generative fill and expand, becoming a cornerstone of its toolkit.
