Day #1: 13 Oct 2023 Friday
Today's Reflections
Today is the first day of my Career 2.0 journey. It was a wonderful experience, but also very different from everyday.
What did I do today?
Woke up 30 min late, did exercise but finished it only 8am
After bath and breakfast, it was 9:30 am
Talked to Achachan till 10:30 - very good conversation. I shared the learning plan with him, he was very interested to know about it. He gave some good feedback. Most importantly, I could talk to him freely and that was nice
He, Liza and George are my accountability partners. I will share my progress with them at the end of every week and they will give feedback.
Then I walked for 40 min from 10:40 to 11:20
Had a light lunch - 1 cup of leftover clam chowder. Watched a TED video about stress
Now it is 11:55 am, I am going to start the first Pomodoro - learn Postman (Pluralsight course)
3:30 - halfway through the Pluralsight course - it was very useful
Finished most of the course by 6:00 pm. The last module was about documentation, so I skipped it.
Wrote the LinkedIn post about my new journey of Career 2.0.
What went well?
did strength exercises in the morning. Followed the famous routine from julian.com
had spinach/protein smoothie - apples, orange, whey protein, milk, spinach
finished the Postman course on Pluralsight (one chapter remaining, but that is documentation)
walked 8500 steps - that is progress! Walked on Peloton while watching the built-in Netflix app - Wolf of Wall Street
What could have been better?
didn’t get out of bed at 6am, which delayed the exercise, which delayed the first Pomodoro by 2 hrs
didn’t reach 10K steps. Should change the goal or do more
had a lull time in the afternoon (3-4:30pm) - it was difficult to focus
What will I do differently tomorrow?
wake up at 6am itself, start exercise at 6:30, or the latest by 6:45
walk for 10 minutes in the morning itself
Today I learned (TIL)..
Postman is a great tool to try out APIs before integrating with the application.
Postman can run a mock server and serve specific responses - great tool to test
A good workflow to take notes while watching Pluralsight training
Listen to the training video, pause as needed
Take notes in Remarkable - most important points only
At the end of a module, quickly type the notes to Obsidian. It serves as a refresher too.
Excited to start the day tomorrow!
