My HTML Journey - Week 1 and Week 2
Learning HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is like embarking on a fascinating journey into the world of web development. In the first two weeks of my HTML learning adventure, I've gained invaluable insights and acquired essential knowledge that has set a strong foundation for my understanding of web development. These initial weeks have been both exciting and enlightening as I've delved into the fundamental concepts of HTML and explored its practical applications. In this essay, I will reflect on what I've learned during my HTML journey in Week 1 and Week 2.
Week 1: The Building Blocks of HTML
Week 1 was all about getting acquainted with the basic building blocks of HTML. I discovered that HTML serves as the backbone of web pages, providing structure and content to the online world. Some of the key takeaways from this week include:
HTML Structure: I learned about the basic structure of an HTML document, including the essential tags such as <!DOCTYPE>, <html>, <head>, and <body>. These tags form the foundation of every web page and help organize content.
Elements and Tags: HTML is made up of elements enclosed within tags. I learned how to create elements like headings, paragraphs, and links using tags such as <h1>, <p>, and <a>. Understanding these tags allowed me to start building structured content.
Attributes: HTML elements can have attributes that provide additional information or properties. I explored attributes like src, href, alt, and class, which are crucial for adding images, links, and styling to web pages.
Week 2: Styling and Presentation
In the second week of my HTML journey, I transitioned from structuring web content to enhancing its presentation and visual appeal. Key highlights from Week 2 include:
CSS Introduction: I discovered the power of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) as a means to control the layout and appearance of web pages. CSS allows for the separation of content from presentation, making it easier to style HTML elements.
Inline and Internal Styles: I learned how to apply styles directly to HTML elements using inline styles and within the document using internal styles. This knowledge allowed me to start customizing fonts, colors, and backgrounds.
Text Formatting: The concept of text formatting fascinated me as it enabled me to control the visual presentation of text and make it more appealing and organized.
My HTML journey in Week 1 and Week 2 has been an enlightening experience, laying the foundation for my web development skills. These initial steps have allowed me to create well-structured web page and style them to enhance their visual appeal. I'm excited to continue exploring HTML and its interplay with CSS. This journey has opened the door to the vast and dynamic world of web development, and I look forward to the knowledge and skills I will acquire as I continue on this exciting path.
