Creating Additional Volume for #EC2 Instance on #Amazon Linux 2. #AmazonElasticComputeCloud (EC2) allows you to attach additional volumes to your EC2 instances, providing you with more storage capacity and flexibility for your applications and data. In this guide, we will walk you through the process of creating and attaching an additional volume to an EC2 instance running #AmazonLinux 2.
By adding another volume to your EC2 instance, you can increase storage space, separate data or log files, or configure specific storage requirements for your applications. This can help optimize performance, enhance data management, and ensure #reliable and #scalable storage solutions.
- Open the Amazon Dashboard.
2.Create one EC2 instance with Amazon Linux 2 Ami(free tier).
3.After creating left side of the dashboard you can see #ElasticBlockstore under volume.
Click on volume, as u can see that there is a root volume is already available, we need one more volume to the instance. so, On the right top corner u can see a create volume button there just click on it and create a volume.
4.After creating a volume status of volume it will show available.
5.we need to Attach the volume to the instance. Just select that newly created volume and after the top right corner you can see that action button just click on it and select attach volume. you need to give the region name as same name as the instance region.
6.After attached it will show status of volume in-use.
