Unveiling the World of Product Design: Week One's Inspiring Odyssey
What an exhilarating voyage it has been, from the moment of our onboarding through the enchanting orientation. I'm thrilled to be part of Team A's Product Design track as a proud Women Techster.
Allow me to share the delightful experience of my first week in Module One, guided by our incredibly skilled mentor, the wonderful Cynthia Caxton. I must express my genuine admiration for her ability not only in the technical realm but also her remarkable prowess in communication. She has an exceptional talent for making everyone feel included and engaged.
During this first week, we plunged into the world of essential software tools, including Figma, Notion, Miror, Freehand Sketch, and InVision. These digital companions are the keys to unlocking our creative potential, and I'm excited to explore their possibilities.
We then embarked on a journey of understanding the essence of product design, uncovering the distinctions between UI and UX, and delving into the very heart of design itself. We learned the multifaceted roles of UX designers, pondered the significance of products, and contemplated the world of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Along the way, we had the privilege of examining real-world examples, both good and bad, of user experiences. Our exploration continued as we learned about the concept of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and delved into the intriguing field of UX auditing. I must admit, I couldn't be more excited about the depth of knowledge I've gained in this very first week of Module One.
The enthusiasm coursing through me about my week one, module one experience is boundless. It's a testament to my passion and commitment to the world of product design. I eagerly anticipate the journey ahead, filled with curiosity and creativity, as I continue to explore this captivating field. The future holds incredible promise, and I'm looking forward to each amazing step along the way!
What is a good design quote?
“Design is in everything we make, but it's also between those things. It's a mix of craft, science, storytelling, propaganda, and philosophy.” - Erik Edigard
