My Path to AWS Cloud Certified Practitioner: Exam Prep 🙌

In today's post, I'd like to share the steps I'm taking to prepare for the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam. I'm open to hearing any other tips or advice you may have for me too 😊.

Essential Tools

I'm a self-taught learner and have found effective ways to organize my study time and maintain quality learning habits.

Some of my favorite tools include:

• Notion: I find Notion to be an incredible productivity and note-taking web application for keeping track of study notes and deadlines. It's both free and easy to use. In my case, I've created a table with contents. Each section is an independent page covering a specific topic. You can add the columns you prefer and customize them to your liking.

• Study Planner: If you enjoy putting things on paper, consider getting a good study planner. I like to make notes, set goals, and establish deadlines in my planner.

• Whiteboard: There are four types of learners (visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic). Each person is a blend of these four learning styles, but in my case, I predominantly depend on taking notes, as well as visual learning. Having a whiteboard has helped me write and understand concepts in the past. Sometimes, I leave the notes on it for a while and revisit them to reinforce my understanding of the concept.

• Approach One Concept at a Time: My preferred method involves initially reading about a concept and revisiting my notes to solidify my understanding. I proceed to the next concept only after fully grasping the current one.

Hands-on Exam prep!

I've chosen to start with the AWS Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) exam because it provides the foundational knowledge I need and a high-level understanding of AWS Cloud, services, and terminology. Since I'm new to Cloud Technologies, this certification is the perfect starting point.

Keep in mind that while having a technical background may be helpful, it's not exclusive to technical people!

I began by reviewing the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) Exam Guide. Please take some time to read it in detail and highlight the key points 📚.

I'll begin with Domain 1: Cloud Concepts, which accounts for 24% of the total content and focuses on exploring these key areas:

1. Benefits of AWS Cloud: Dive into the advantages, cost savings, global infrastructure, high availability, and agility.

2. Design Principles: Discover the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its pillars, which include operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and sustainability.

3. Migration Strategies: Gain insights into cloud adoption strategies and the resources that support your migration journey, including the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework (AWS CAF).

4. Cloud Economics: Explore different aspects of cloud economics, including cost-saving mechanisms, differentiating between fixed and variable costs, strategies for licensing, the role of automation, and the utilization of managed AWS services.
