My 4th Month: Transition to Backend Development
Introduction
In my 4th month at TIIDELab, my journey has been a remarkable transition from a foundational understanding of frontend development to becoming a backend developer, with a focus on Node.js and Express.js. Throughout this journey, I have been an integral part of the Innovation Squad, where our primary focus has been the development of MedEase, a medical adherence tracker. In this article, I'll share the key milestones of my journey, highlighting the transition and the collaborative work on MedEase.
Transitioning to Backend Development
Node.js and Express.js I made a significant transition to backend development, with a strong focus on Node.js and Express.js. Node.js, as a JavaScript runtime, enabled me to use the same language on both the frontend and backend. Express.js, a robust web application framework, simplified the process of building server-side applications. This shift marked a significant milestone in my learning journey.
Collaborating on MedEase
Designing the ER Diagram
Throughout my journey at TIIDELab, I have been a vital part of the Innovation Squad, which has provided me with invaluable experiences and opportunities. Collaborating on MedEase, a medical adherence tracker, has been a significant project. Our initial task involved designing the Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) for the application. The ERD outlined the data structure and relationships between different components, serving as a critical foundation for the project.
Sprinting Towards Success
MedEase's Progress
Our journey with MedEase has been characterized by sprints, each bringing us closer to our goal. During the 7th sprint, we focused on adding essential JavaScript functionalities to the application, reflecting our collective learning and collaboration. MedEase, at its core, is designed to empower medical adherence, ensuring that patients adhere to their prescribed treatment plans.
