Notion and Google Calendar are two incredibly popular productivity tools used by millions of people worldwide. The notion is an all-in-one workspace for notes, tasks, wikis and databases. Google Calendar is a robust calendar and scheduling system.

Many users want to integrate these two platforms to view their Google Calendar directly within a Notion page. This guide will explain two methods for embedding your Google Calendar inside Notion.

Why Embed Google Calendar in Notion

There are several key reasons you may want to embed your Google Calendar in Notion:

  • See your schedule alongside other Notion content like notes, tasks and projects

  • Avoid toggling between Notion and Google Calendar

  • View the calendar on mobile Notion apps more easily

  • Share the calendar with teammates using Notion

The Notion native calendar has limited functionality compared to Google Calendar. Embedding provides a better calendar experience inside Notion.

Method 1: Use Google Calendar Public Embed

Google Calendar provides a public embed feature to display your calendar within external sites. Here's how to use it:

  1. Open Google Calendar and click the 3-dot menu for the calendar you want to embed

  2. Under "Access permissions", enable "Make available to public"

  3. Scroll down to "Integrate calendar" and copy the "Public URL"

  4. In Notion, type /embed and paste the Google Calendar URL

  5. The live calendar will appear in Notion! You can resize it as needed

Pros: Simple setup, calendar stays updated

Cons: Calendar must be fully public

Method 2: Use Third-Party Widget Service

Alternatively, you can use a third-party service like Indify to embed Google Calendar without making it public:

  1. Sign up for Indify and add the Google Calendar widget

  2. Connect your Google account to select calendar(s)

  3. Customize appearance and copy embed URL

  4. Paste the URL in Notion /embed block

Pros: Embed non-public calendars, customize styles

Cons: Extra monthly charge, manual updates

Tips for Embedding Google Calendar

Here are some additional tips when embedding your Google Calendar in Notion:

  • Place embed in a Notion Sync Block to reuse across pages

  • View does not allow adding new events (edit in Google Calendar)

  • Changes may have a delay before syncing to view

  • Try Indify free plan to start

Summary

Embedding Google Calendar in Notion combines these two powerful platforms for scheduling and task management. The public embed method is simpler while third-party tools like Indify offer more customization.

Give one or both Google Calendar embedding methods a try to bring your calendar directly into Notion! Let us know if you have any other questions.
