Blogging for the Plot

Hi!

My name is Jayrel, and this will be my personal blog as I embark on the journey to break into the tech industry as a web developer.

Why "Doing For The Plot"?

This blog title is inspired by the popular Gen Z slang "do it for the plot."

So why did I choose this title? It's a kind of a long story, but this phrase really resonated with me and moved me to finally create this blog.

To understand the significance of this blog and its "title" for me, you should know that in the past, I tried starting a blog as well, but somehow, I was not able to push through.

This is the aforementioned blog!

And, that... I have six boxes of Gundam plastic models, gathering dust and still inside their boxes...

And, I have a 1000-piece One Piece anime puzzle that's probably only 10% completed...

And, I was a seafarer before giving it all up just to take a gamble on breaking into tech.

So, what does the title have to do with everything mentioned above?

"Doing it for the plot" or "do it for the plot" somehow has an intentional feel to it!

I've procrastinated countless times, easily lost interest in things I was once very passionate about, and made a whole lot of excuses for not doing things!

Finally, I'm doing this for the plot

I feel like I've talked about a lot of things already, but we'll have to unpack those later.

For now, I am genuinely doing this for my story. And no, this is not a "main character syndrome." (Even side characters and tools have backstories and lore!)

This blog will be for me and to finally hold myself accountable as I delve into the world of tech as a Web Developer!
