What I'm learning Today
Az-104 Study Strategy
I had a pretty big breakthrough in learning today. After trying multiple techniques which included going through labs, watching Udemy courses, taking practice tests then making flash cards on everything I didn't know, I came to point where nothing was working. My thought process was to follow the proven strategy of what worked for others. Well, these strategies based on the practice test did not work for me.
So, I went to the Microsoft Study Guide and there is an exam prep sections which they basically say read the Microsoft learn > Watch the exam prep videos > try a practice test and then go for the test. I had already watched the exam prep so I said why not and tried reading Microsoft learn. I had partially already done it but stopped in favor of strategies that I saw others use. This time I read the section from top to bottom. I learned a couple things
First, I actually liked learning the information in the documentation. It helped that it started off on a topic that was interesting. However, I really do like how Microsoft Learn provides the information. I didn't get bored at all and felt like I was really learning. Second, I found out that I was actually learning and my confidence began to grow with the material. I felt I was getting it. However, until I tested it in a practice test, I wouldn't know.
I eventually went to a practice test that had a section-based part and then took the quiz. Previously I had started it and did terribly. However, this time I was doing well. Not only did I know the correct answers, I understood the concept of the question and why the answer was right. I think I only missed the whole section.
This has given me confidence that I have a plan that works now and in turn giving me more motivation to study because I believe it will pay off with success.
