Let’s start this blog with an inspiring quote:

"Your network is your net worth."

This quote emphasises the importance of networking and communities.

A tech and marketing community that recently gained attention is Apexia.

Apexia is a community focused on bringing people together where they can share their ideas on tech, marketing, or any other field of interest.

February 7, 2024: Apexia hosted its first-ever event, CONVERGE.

The event kicked off with the revelation of the community's core motive, a breakdown of its logo, and an introduction to its creators.

The passion behind the community's efforts was evident, particularly during the detailed description of the logo design.

Let us now proceed to the main event.

Sarthak Bhave led the first segment, titled "Converging Paths: Understanding Events."

The mix of creativity, humour, and confidence was awesome. Besides, the use of trending meme culture left everyone shocked.

Sarthak shed light on the following points.

  • Importance of participating in hackathons, meetups, and communities for personal and professional development.

  • Connecting with various people in hackathons, especially for newbies.

  • Provided valuable insights on how to find such events and how we can contribute.

This highlighted the importance of networking within communities for overall growth.

Shivang Parmar and Srujal Shah then took the stage to share their piece on "Discover and Connect."

Shivang Parmar, a Github enthusiast, emphasised the importance of GitHub for programmers.

GitHub is a platform for sharing and collaborating on code. It serves as a digital space where people can work together on software projects.

He also shared the best practices for realising its full potential. And with that, the audience was given their first task: create a GitHub account!

The significance of social media platforms like Twitter and Discord was also highlighted.

Srujal S. Shah continued the segment by discussing the importance of LinkedIn in an engineer's life.

LinkedIn is an online space where you can connect with work friends, show what you've done in your job, and find new job opportunities.

The audience was also shown how to best optimise their LinkedIn profiles.

Srujal Shah then asked the audience which platform they preferred: Twitter or LinkedIn, leaving the audience in splits.

He shared personal experiences of leveraging LinkedIn, illustrating its effectiveness in accessing various opportunities within the industry.

As the event approached its final phase, Srujal introduced the audience to the Devfolio and Devpost websites. These websites serve as a great platform for finding and participating in world-class hackathons.

The best part was that the speakers tried to keep the event as interactive as possible. The number of hands raised as the event progressed was incredible!

The speakers also welcomed questions and encouraged audience participation throughout the event.

One of the things that Apexia stated was:

"Apexia is more than just a community where people come to get swag, watch some PowerPoint presentations, and then leave. We want everyhumanyou see at an Apexia event to be your friend. We are building a forever community where people learn and grow together.”

Overall, attending Apexia's first event, CONVERGE, provided attendees with valuable insights into the tech community, professional networking, and the opportunities that lie ahead in the world of tech and marketing.

The swags were the cherry on top!
