Progress Report: Halfway There
Wow, I'm through the Outreachy internship and it's been one interesting journey. In this article, I'll share some progress reports on the project I've been working on and the plan for the next half.
First Half Progress
In the first half of my Outreachy internship working on the "Update and Improve ODK-X Documentation for New Release" project, I successfully updated screenshots and content in the documentation for the new services app. Additionally, I created instructional videos for the services app, offering users a more visual and comprehensive understanding of the tool. Notably, I also tested the sync endpoint with the latest Ubuntu distribution and updated instructions for setting it up on different cloud platforms.
Lesson Learned
I will say the initial weeks taught me the importance of adaptability and flexibility, especially when dependencies on external releases are involved. I've learned to keep the work going and how alternative workflows can be adopted to reduce delay time.
Plans for the Next Half
In the second half of the internship, I plan to further engage with the ODK-X community, actively seeking feedback and input. Additionally, I will continue improving the documentation. Exploring opportunities to contribute to related projects within the community will also be a focus.
Conclusion
This progress report marks a midpoint in my Outreachy internship journey, highlighting achievements, lessons learned, and plans for the coming weeks. As I go through the second half, I look forward to continued collaboration and learning within the ODK-X community.
