🛡️Play Protect will stop your app from being installed on devices😟

You heard it right. With the new fraud protection releases in Google Play Protect, your app distribution may be impacted and users might not be able to install your app. With new updates, Play Protect will block the installation of apps which seem to be financial fraud apps like those apps having unnecessary privacy permission requests like SMS, contacts, phone logs, screen access etc and are installed from higher risk sources like browsers, file manager etc..

🧠 Here are some ways to don't let your app fall in front of this security check.

💡Review your app: Do check your app's permissions list beforehand and make sure that you are not asking for any irrelevant permission. Asking for some sensitive data permissions might make your app look like a fraudulent app.

💡 Follow best practices: If your app functionality revolves around sensitive data like photos, contacts etc. Then you should follow best practices to get them, like accessing photos and videos, do use the Media Provider provided by Android. These best practices will safeguard your app from being a fraud.

If your app is being affected by the Play Protect and you are not able to figure out why it happened. Then you can look into updated developer guidance on play protect warnings or file an appeal for same.
