Society today is too dependent on the internet, so the little teens are.

We as grown-ups can still manage our online safety, but when it comes to young users, their parents are required to take charge of their protection while they are navigating the digital planet.

Here, one thing that can best help these poor parents is setting up Chrome's Parental control.

You may now dig into this blog and learn how to set up Chrome parental control features.

Google Chrome does offer some features to keep young users protected from inappropriate content and websites.

To enable them all, you first need to link your kids’ account to Google Family Link.

Here’s how you can do it:

  • First thing first, if your kids don’t have a Google account, then create one.

  • Next, install the Google Family Link app on your device.

  • Then, add your kids’ account to the Family link - Go to Settings >> Google >> All Services >> Parental Controls.

Once you are done, move to the next section to learn the Chrome parental control setup procedure.

Note: The Family Link controller doesn't work for children above 13 and doesn’t even let you monitor non-Android and non-Chromebook devices.

The procedure to set up Chrome parental control is pretty much straightforward. All you need to do is:

1. Enable SafeSearch Settings

You can use the safe search feature to prevent the most explicit content from appearing in Google search results. To do so:

  • Open your Family Link app, and tap the app’s Dashboard >> Content Restrictions >> Google Search.

  • Now, select the option SafeSearch and turn it ‘ON’.

  • Turn ‘ON’ the option Personal Results to allow your kids to see the personalized settings specifically.

  • Next, choose the option Account Data Settings to manage what types of data can be saved to your kids’ Google Account and adjust the types of ads they can access.

2. Filter Browsing

The filter browsing feature helps you block mature content. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Open Settings >> Manage >> Filters on Google Chrome.

  • Then, select the option ‘Try to block mature sites.’

3. Change Site Permissions

Changing site permissions is a great way to enhance the safety of your kids in this browsing world of Chrome. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Tap Settings card >> Manage >> Google Chrome >> Chrome Dashboard.

  • Now, go to the options Permissions for sites, apps, and extensions, and turn all of them ‘OFF’.

That’s it! You may now take a sigh of relief knowing that your little teens are having safe browsing with Chrome.
