Hashnode is great

This moment is now, I'm no longer gonna use Hashnode for blogging. Don't get me wrong, it's a great platform, that gives everything you need to start and strive. Fancy layout, cool editor, analytics, subscription list, powerful SEO, and it also drives traffic to the blog! And is totally free - big kudos to Hashnode team for working hard on all the features and constantly improving the platform.

Why migrating?

So you might ask, why do I change if Hashnode is so powerful yet free? Well, I'm a big fan of spinning everything from scratch and having full control over the code. That's the reason to migrate to my own custom blog available at blog.marzeta.pl.

I've already moved the top articles there and will add more. If you don't want to miss them you can subscribe to mailing list there :)

Tech stack

In the new blog, I use a ghost framework - https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost which gives total control over content, layout, admin dashboard, meta files, etc. Basically, you can edit everything you want + it's quite easy to customize the code even though I'm a backend guy :)

There are multiple themes from indie hackers to choose from, so customization limitation is just about creativity, nothing stops from having Nyan cat following the cursor (90' internet vibes). You can also customize cookies, and analytics, make custom integrations, and many more.

For now, I use managed hosting, which adds subscription handling, and CDN, which doesn't cost a fortune.
