Embracing the Unexpected: My Journey from Scrolling to Buildspace
I'm a pretty laid back person when it comes to tech, which is one thing except chess that I'm passionate about.
I once collaborated with my teammates to create a door latch system for a science exhibition. It was a basic security system made from Arduino circuit boards for car doors and home doors that emitted a screeching noise when unauthorized personnel tried to open it. Not that exciting, I know, but it was something.
Just ended my first year on 31st May 2024-bummed out, to be honest. Uni exams at one point just feel mentally draining.
On a random day-you know what, there's no need to hide it-everybody indulges a tad bit scrolling through reels but this is how the good stuff which is there on the internet is discovered. Lo and behold, I discovered the Instagram page of Buildspace.
The page was filled with stories of people from around the world, with their wonderful ideas being brought to life and the process being documented. I was intrigued, to be honest. So how cool it was when I found out that Buildspace was starting to accept applications for season 5? I decided to apply for it. I'm not gonna lie but all the ideas that were brought to life from season 1 to season 4 were completely out of this world. Plus as a beginner or a lazy person who hasn't explored tech stack and didn't have ideas similar to these super hardworking people the whole ordeal felt daunting.
I had a gut feeling that i wouldn't be selected since I'm the most inexperienced person in tech, but i took a chance, filled in the application and slept on it .
Imagine my utter shock when I got in. My application was as inconsistent as my Wi-Fi- it is what it is. Getting accepted into Buildspace was a turning point. It taught me that sometimes, taking a chance can lead to unexpected and wonderful opportunities. Now, I'm ready to dive into this new adventure and see where my passion for tech takes me. Wish me luck :)

Hello fellow tech enthusiasts! It's me, and I find myself immersed in the fascinating world of programming languages, eagerly exploring the wonders they offer. As someone on this journey of discovery, I am constantly captivated by the endless possibilities that programming languages bring. From the fundamental concepts to the intricate syntax, each programming language seems to unfold its own set of wonders. Currently in the process of figuring out where my interests lie, I've dipped my toes into python, C++ and then lastly tinkered a bit with APIs.
