Data Engineering: a new hope

Since 2011 my work area has been administrative, but I want to change that. At 2023 I started to walk into a beautiful way... Web Development.

So, my vision of programming was changed. I really enjoyed that route, the classmates, the teachers, all of that. It was a big challenge for me.

But... why that was a big challenge for me?

I'm gonna explain you!

In my childhood, I was a bad math student. I didn't understood the math logics, that was hard to me. Even today, it's a big challenge to me and my brain, try to think in that logic, try to apply the programming logic. But I don't give up, I'm still standing and trying to do my best.

Coming from another working area like administrative, sometimes looks really hard. Trying to get into the IT industry, applying the jobs and the big needing of five years of previous experience in the IT area, working with JavaScript, TypeScript, etc...

But not all is lost! Data analyst, data engineering, and some like these, at the moment have a high demand.

So, I'm doing a Data Engineering course in Coursera, it's providing by IBM and it's payed by Jóvenes a Programar. But... what is Jóvenes a Programar? Well, it's a gubernamental project to teach young people to learn Web Development and Testing. The best of this, it's free!!! (Disclaimer: you only can apply to the course if you have the uruguayan nationality and have between 18 to 30 years, but doesn't matters where you are living geographically).

The first year, you learn the basics of programming, programming logic, and the basic web stack (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap 5, NodeJs, SQL, MariaDB).

Optionally you can take a second year (like me and others 700 people -now-), and you have a Coursera License for a few months and you need to do the specialization that you chose.

I chose Data Engineering, because has a high demand and I love data to help others.

At this moment I'm learning how to work with ETL process. It's very complex to do because has a high detail. But that is my recent vision, being a new student.

So, see you next time!!!
I hope you're doing great!
