Who are Sulphites?

As a passionate reader, I often find myself transported by the magic of words. But two months ago, a single word in a novel sparked a journey beyond the fictional world. That word? Sulphite. Captivated by its presence in the novel, I completed the whole novel but yet "sulphite" remained in my mind. Today, on revisiting the novel, this word hold all my attention. I decided to reveal its depths, So I turned to Google.

The initial search gave me a bunch of scientific terms– chemical formulas and natural substances related to sulfites (with a "f"). Intrigued, but not quite on target, I changed my prompt to "sulphite people." This time, the results surprised me. A fascinating personality profile emerged: the "sulphite."

Before delving into the depths of word let's Imagine someone who is different yet not as much different, who in not according to standard but the setter of the standards, who thrives on change, and a rebel against routine. Yes, they are Sulphites, they're the life of the party, the innovators, the ones who bring a spark of excitement wherever they go. This description resonated deeply. Perhaps the word resonated because it mirrored a hidden aspect of myself, or maybe it embodied a friend I admired.

Despite this initial spark, delving deep into the characteristics of "sulphite" personalities became an unexpected adventure. It offered a new lens to view the people around myself a little better. I came across various characteristics of Sulphites:

The Unpredictable Sulphite

Forget the predictable. Gelett Burgess, who coined the terms "sulphite" and its opposite "bromide," described a sulphite as someone who does their own thinking. "One can never foresee what he will do," Burgess wrote, "except that it will be a direct and spontaneous manifestation of his own personality."

Originality in Everything

Sulphite conversation is never dull. They don't follow others, rather they reset their own action They may speak of ordinary things in extraordinary ways, or surprise you with a completely unexpected twist on a familiar thing. Their behavior is equally unpredictable. They might take a mundane task and turn it into an adventure, or approach a challenging situation with a unique and unconventional solution.

Rare Gems in Society

Sulphite personalities are rare gems. Adventurous and unpredictable, they bring a breath of fresh air to any social circle.

In literature, they often take the form of well-developed individuals with depth and complexity. Burgess himself identified figures like George Bernard Shaw, Lewis Carroll, and even President William McKinley as sulphites. It's not only about the fictional or novel's character. We also came across many sulphites in our daily life, and they are the one who remain in our mind for ever, with the good memories.

Despite the initial spark, delving into the characteristics of "sulphite" personalities became an unexpected adventure. It offered a new lens to view the people around me a little better.

Yet I think that much more is remaining to be discovered and explored.
