My AWS Developer Associate (DVA-C02) Exam Experience [1st Attempt]

While I await my official score and certification, I wanted to share my experience with this incredible community and seek your guidance for my next challenge - the Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03) exam.

Exam Insights

The AWS Developer Associate exam heavily focused on serverless technologies. Here are some key topics and the number of questions I encountered:

• Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB: Numerous questions

• Secrets Manager and SSM Parameter Store: Around 6-7 questions, mainly on key rotation and CloudFormation templates

• Mock Integration: 2 straightforward questions

• Event Type of Invocation in API Gateway for Async Lambda: 1 question (I got this wrong! 😅)

• X-Ray on Fargate: 1 question

• SQS, including Delay Queues and DLQs for Lambda Async: A couple of questions

• DynamoDB Streams: 1 question

• SAM (Serverless Application Model) Commands: 2 questions on "sam local invoke" and "sam deploy --force_build"

Preparation Strategy

I started with zero AWS knowledge and hands-on experience. Here's a breakdown of my preparation strategy:

• Initial Study: Spent about two months studying Stephane's course on and off.

• Final Month: Focused on taking practice tests from Skillcertpro, revising materials, and increasing my concentration.

• Final Four Days: Dedicated 13-14 hours a day to studying, completing around 13 practice tests from Skillcertpro and also reviewing the exam notes provided from them.

• Test Results

• Skillcertpro Practice Tests: Initially scored around 65-70%, but improved to 84-92% after further preparation.

• Test Focus: Skillcertpro tests were more focused and covers all topics equally, I highly recommend taking them as I got nearly 80% from their sets in my main exam..

Preparing for Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-C03)
