w1 & w2 at nights & weekends s5: learning, building, and podcasting 🚀
The first two weeks at Nights and Weekends S5 have been nothing short of amazing. I've learned so much, made significant progress on my project, and even got featured on a podcast. Let's dive into the details!
Week 1: Idea Refinement and Feedback
In the first week, we started by creating an idea slide. This involved writing a one-liner for our idea and then describing it in more detail. Here's the first version of my idea slide:
I received some incredibly useful feedback, which I implemented to refine my idea. Here's the final version of my idea slide:
One key takeaway from this exercise was the importance of simplicity. The one-liner should be so basic that even a first grader can understand it. In my initial attempt, the description was vague and somewhat misdirected. However, my second attempt clearly conveyed what Heaven Estate is all about.
I also came across some great ideas from fellow cohort members. Here are a few of them:
Towards the end of Week 1, I got an exciting invite from a fellow builder, Omkar Kadam. He asked me to join his podcast, Create>Consume, and I couldn't have been more thrilled to accept.
Week 2: Building and Podcasting
In Week 2, our task was to create a "toy"—a basic demo of our idea—and release it. Although I was a day late in submitting my update, I was happy with what I managed to create.
For my toy, I developed a mobile app that allows users to explore different villas in 3D using augmented reality (AR) and 360-degree views. Users can rotate and examine the villas in 3D, getting a detailed look at the architecture and layout. Additionally, the app provides an immersive 360-degree view of the interior, giving users a sense of being inside the villa. With this toy, the first part of the Heaven Estate idea is now ready and functional. here is a link to my toy:

Amidst all this, I recorded the podcast with Omkar. When the episode came out, it was well-received and enjoyed by many. Here’s the link to the podcast: Create>Consume Podcast Episode
Now, as I head into the next phase of my project, my focus is on launching the AR app for reviews and feedback. Due to some limitations with the VR end of the app, I'll be releasing videos of the in-app VR experience.
Next Up,
I'm gearing up to get everything ready soon. I can’t wait to see how users interact with Heaven Estate and to hear all the juicy feedback. Stay tuned for more updates and possibly a few unexpected twists on this wild ride!
