A Toolist for Blogging
I've been blogging professionally for around 3 years now, and around 10 as just a hobby. There are several tools that I would always recommend bloggers, so this is that list!
The most important tool that I use every day is the Google Search Console. It can highlight website issues that are causing your site to lose traffic, help you index content and show you what you're doing right.
You should of course integrate this with Google Analytics for in-depth traffic analysis.
SERP Checker
There are many SEO Tools that you can use to check the SERPs for specific Keyword rankings. I recommend SERP Checker, but I'm sure there are better ones out there.
Looking at your position in the SERPs can give you valuable feedback on what is working for your blog, and what isn't. If you just write articles without researching how they might perform, you're going to either have to get lucky or be OK with wasting hours and hours.
Another Google tool I like to use is Page Speed Insights. Generally, if you check any of the top websites on the internet, they will perform badly with Page Speed Insights, so it's not the most important element of blogging.
But it can identify speed issues; too much JavaScript or MB-hogging images that you need to look at when doing blog maintenance.
Pushover
Pushover is an app you can use to send notifications to your phone. It has a one-time fee, and then you integrate it's API into your blog to alert you of issues.
Site down? Get a notification.
New email subscriber? Get a notification.
For someone who doesn't check their email all the time, I love it!
