ο£Ώ Apple M5 SoC made for AI servers and Macs?
Apple is working together with TSMC on the M5 SoC, which should also be suitable for server operation. Apple wants to build its new M chips as Dual-Use-SoCs, which makes it possible to use them as server chips and chips for iPhone, iPad, ... . Currently, Apple uses M2-Ultra chips to provide the services for Apple Intelligence. However, these chips were not explicitly designed for server operation.
In the future, the cloud must be able to communicate directly with iPhones, iPads, and Macs, which means that the cloud must have the same hardware platform. Currently, Apple uses external services such as Google Cloud and AWS for the iCloud. This could change in the future.
Our thoughts
Apple's demand for new SoCs will continue to increase in the coming years. Apple is now trying to get its hands on the cloud as part of its AI offensive. Apple is also planning to roll out Apple Intelligence in stages. This year, only the US market will initially get the functions of Apple Intelligence. Other countries will follow in 2025. The delayed rollout will help Apple to upgrade its cloud for AI.
In our opinion, secure deployment of AI applications is only possible via dedicated servers. Apple can ensure data protection with its own AI infrastructure. This is the only way to make private cloud computing possible.

π ElevenLabs supports the voices of iconic stars
ElevenLabs*, an AI audio company, announced new voices of legendary stars (Judy Garland, James Dean, Burt Reynolds, and Sir Laurence Olivier) for its recently released Reader App. With the new Reader App, users can listen to any digital text (PDFs, ePub, newsletters, e-books, ...). Now, users and fans can use the voices of legendary stars to have their digital texts read aloud. The voices are only available in the new Reader app.

Our thoughts
ElevenLabs makes legendary voices sound again! That is fascinating and shocking at the same time! It's nice to be able to hear the voices of deceased stars again, but the technology can also be used for criminal purposes.
ElevenLabs' mission is to break down language barriers and make realistic language accessible to everyone. We think ElvenLabs' vision is great. The voices sound so realistic, and you can hardly distinguish them from real voices. In our opinion, ElevenLabs is a must-try.

π€ Meta AI: Generate high-quality 3D assets with AI

Meta announced Meta 3D Gen, an AI system that can generate high-quality 3D assets from a text prompt in under a minute. 3DGen combines the key technical components Meta 3D AssetGen for text-to-3D and Meta 3D TextureGen for text-to-texture.
According to Meta, 3DGen outperforms many industry-standard models in terms of prompt fidelity and the visual quality of complex textual prompts, while it is also faster than other models. In addition, 3DGen supports the generative retexturing of previously generated or existing 3D shapes.
Our thoughts
In the past, the creation of high-quality 3D assets was a time-consuming process. AI can generate high-quality 3D assets for video games, AR, or VR significantly faster and cheaper. At the moment, Meta is focusing primarily on AI. But they also develop core elements for the Metaverse in parallel.
Meta 3D Gen is a fast, state-of-the-art pipeline for 3D asset generation they need for the Metaverse. In the future, the virtual world and the real world will continue to merge, which will need realistic 3D models.
