Networking

Definition:

Networking is a collection of nodes and they are connected by some communication links.

Keywords:

1)Nodes:

A Node is a computer, printer or any other device, which have the capable of sending and receiving data given by other devices or nodes in the network.

Examples:

Routers, Computers ,Switches etc.

2)Communication link:

A communication link can be wired link or wireless link. This link only carries the information between the nodes.

There are two types of links:

\Wired link*

*Wireless link

Wired link:

*For Example, We have two nodes and these nodes are sending and receiving data. These nodes are exchanging their data using a physical medium called cable. It is called as wired link.

Example: Cable

Wireless link:

*We have two nodes, they wants to exchange their data. But there is no physical connectivity between these nodes. Here air is carrying the information between the nodes. This is called as Wireless link.

Example: Air

Example for Computer Network:

*There are lots of intermediary devices and end devices.

End devices:

The devices which are source and destination in the communication called as end devices.

Intermediary device:

The devices which forwards the data from one side to another side is called as intermediary devices.

*Tower Communication will happen through the intermediary devices.

*Server can access with the help of wired or wire less.

*The main use of computer networking is resource sharing.
