Steps to Create Your First DNS Zone in Azure
Access the Azure Portal: Log in to your Azure account and open the portal.
Search for DNS Zone: In the search bar, type "DNS zone" and select the corresponding service.
- Click "Create DNS zone": This will open a new blade to configure your zone.
Enter Domain Name: Provide the name of your domain.
Choose Resource Group and Subscription: Select the appropriate resource group and subscription for your DNS zone.
- Click "Review + create": Azure will validate your settings.
- Click "Create": Your DNS zone will be created.
Managing DNS Records
- Navigate to Your DNS Zone: In the Azure portal, locate your newly created DNS zone.
Add Record Sets: On the DNS zone's overview page, you'll see a section for "Record sets."
Click on "+ Add" to add a new record.
Select Record Type: Choose the type of record you want to add (e.g., A, CNAME, MX).
Fill in Record Details: Enter the required information, such as the record name, TTL, and IP address or domain name.
- Save Record Set: Click "OK" to save your changes.
